Gerilyn Dawn has been around Gospel Music literally from just days old. Her parents brought her home from the hospital in Michigan and placed her cradle right next to the 1959 model RCA stereo speakers and began lulling her to sleep with the sounds of the Statesmen, the Blackwood Brothers, the Cathedrals, the Imperials, the Speer Family, the LeFevres, and the Rebels Quartet...to name a few! At age 13, she attended a concert by the Kingsmen Quartet, Jerry & the Singing Goffs, and the Hemphills, and became a life-long fanatic!
Gerilyn accepted Jesus at an early age, and knew she wanted to serve Him. Finding a way to do that has involved the Gospel Music field in many areas:
from being a Southern Gospel DJ in and after college,
to singing with her parents and lifelong friends as well as a previous few years performing comedy,
to songwriting (composer of "I Need You More Today" by the Bishops and Jeff & Sheri Easter),
and to creating and promoting a local benefit concert series in Virginia (Central Virginia Angel Hearts) that involves many of her friends and acquaintances from the world of Southern Gospel music in helping folks in her community.
After a few years in the medical field, Gerilyn is once more ready to give the world a smile through her radio show, through future writings, and through a few occasional live shows.
Gerilyn holds a BS Degree in Journalism with a minor in Radio from Liberty University.
